Said Fattouh, producer and host of Arab Voices on KPFT, will be honored for his work on Saturday, May 23, by the Houston Palestine Film Festival.

From the film festival:

The story of this show, which has been on air for the last 13 years, goes back to a few months after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S.

Said approached Pacifica Station in Houston and submitted a proposal to produce and host a live radio program to counter the attacks on Muslims and Arabs by the media and politicians. Pacifica agreed and the show was launched in 2002.

Throughout the last 13 years Said Fattouh has produced over 675 shows, with more than 675 distinguished guests from around the globe. The show debunks many of the stereotypes, myths and false information disseminated by media outlets and politicians and helps enhance understanding of Arabs, Muslims, Islam, and the Middle East.

Arab Voices is a very popular program that has been covered by other media outlets, including a special TV program featuring Arab Voices that aired on Al-Jazeera TV.

KPFT offers congratulations to Said for his recognition and efforts.
