Still not to late to get your ticket to an afternoon of blues brought to you by Sweet Mama Cotton (aka Marcy Rae) at 14 Pews, 800 Aurora St in Houston. The fun starts on Sunday December 4 at 3 pm. Get your tickets at this link to Eventbrite and reserve your seat to a great show!

Sweet Mama Cotton – her name evokes the style described by her motto: “New Texas Blues with respect for tradition.” Though she grew up and started her musical career in the north and northwest (North Dakota, Michigan, Oregon), she is a naturalized Houstonian by now, and the Texas blues tradition is very evident in her original music. Sweet Mama Cotton (aka Marcy Rae) is also a veteran of the folk/Americana music scene. She has been a frequent resident and participant at the Kerrville Folk Festival, and has performed many times at Anderson Fair, Houston’s iconic original music listening room.

Sweet Mama Cotton’s piano skills are the perfect accompaniment for her velvet voice. Her music tells about her view of the world, and invites you to leave your worries at home and celebrate life with her “affirming blues” and heartfelt lyrics.
