The purpose of the community advisory board is outlined by the Corporation of Public Broadcasting (CPB), found in its requirements that the role of the board shall be solely advisory in manner, but with a purpose to provide a vehicle for effective community input. 

The KPFT CAB has met and discussed a townhall meeting (which is in the purview of its duties) to assist in doing the following:

1)   Build a listener base

2)   Establish relationships with non-profit organizations

3)   Excite people about KPFT

4)   Capture feedback and suggestions of communities

An event at either SHAPE or The Montrose Center that will include table top discussions that relate to KPFT’s community outreach and programming, center on diversity and inclusion.

April 1s:

1)   Calls and later emails (see Solicitation of Information Form by Terry LaFave)

2)   Save the Date via Social Media/Website

3)   Develop Table Top Discussion Topics

4)   Develop Marketing campaign

5)   Develop survey (online and in person)

6)   Work with Manager for Incentives

7)   Choose Venue

8)   Donations

April 18th

1)   Nail down venue (payment, final needs)

2)   Send out emails

3)   Table Top Discussions Nailed Down

4)   Organize Discussions;

a.    Pop Topic

b.    Facilitator

c.    Note Collector

5)   Provide Survey (to be collected)

May 5-18

1)   PSAs/Programming Interviews

2)   Follow-up with participants

3)   Provide material as needed

4)   Timeline finalized for Day of Event
