KPFT is saddened to announce the passing of Stuart Snow, once a programmer at KPFT. A celebration of Stuart’s life will be held at Cottonwood (3422 North Shepherd) from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 24th (link). Please join us and bring your fond memories and stories of Stu for an informal gathering.  Here also is a tribute to him written by Jill Morgenstern, producer of Bayou Brew.
I am very sorry to bring you the sad news that 90.1 FM KPFT Houston has lost a programmer and longtime volunteer. This show began on Fridays, not as Bayou Brew, but as Stu’s Brew. Stuart Snow was the host and I was his assistant.
When Stu became too ill to program any longer, I renamed the show Bayou Brew to keep the flavor of Stu’s Brew despite his absence.
It’s been a few years now but I know Stu has only stayed away from KPFT due to his health. He gave and gave to KPFT and always with a smile. Doing Stu’s Brew with him was so much fun.
May his memory be a blessing.
